Chanter Electrical Services was founded in 1945 by Stan Chanter and since then has established itself as a leading company in the electrical contracting industry. The business owners, Tony and Jenny Banks, have continued the tradition by building on the solid foundation of quality, reliability and service set all those decades ago.
The Company currently employs a team of 12 full-time staff with access to additional technical and trade personnel as required. It specialises in all facets of the electrical contracting industry and has the ability to service the needs of clients across Victoria and if required can locate service crews interstate for special projects. Because of its solid reputation, Chanter Electrical Services was invited to join the Laser Group in mid 2004.
Now trading as Laser Electrical Thomastown, Tony and his expert team will utilise the association with Laser Group to continue to build on the already impressive range of services that Laser Electrical Thomastown offer for the benefit of all their customers. And as always, this will be done with a focus on providing professional, reliable and cost effective electrical/data contracting and maintenance services.

Complete Electrical/Data Installation, Service and Maintenance
Our fully qualified service technicians are on call 24 hours a day servicing the needs of a diverse range of commercial and industrial customers. Our company provides complete electrical/data installation, emergency repairs, and maintenance services for all your general lighting, power, data and machinery needs.
Motor Repairs
To reduce customer down-times, our service vans are equipped to carry out basic on site repairs of electric motors. However, if we are unable to complete repairs on site our motor repairer will endeavour to have repairs carried out in less than 48 hours (parts permitting).
Portable Appliance Testing and Tagging (PAT tests)
Laser Electrical Thomastown has the latest computer technology to carry out testing, tagging and maintenance of your log books as per AS/NZS 3760:2003. All of our technicians have completed the latest training to become a “Competent Person” in testing and tagging as per the standards. As our technicians are “A” Grade Electricians, they are also able to carry out any repairs that may be identified during the testing and tagging process, saving you both down time and money.
Exit and Emergency Lighting
Exit and Emergency Lighting require 6 monthly checks at all commercial and industrial installations. We not only maintain the fittings but we are equipped to conduct any repair or replacement work, update log books and carry out full maintenance reports. If clients require a Schedule of Fittings, Log Books or plans of the exit and emergency fittings, we can set this up for you as either “hard copy” or on disk. Further, if you require emergency lighting we can design and install a system that meets with AS/NZS2293.2.
Service Standards
Whilst we offer a diverse range of services, our major asset is reliability. Our customers receive a guarantee of efficient service, and the knowledge that once their call has been received for an emergency break-down a service team member will respond within 1 hour (Melbourne Metropolitan area).
